We provide ongoing document development and research tasks on a large, multi-species habitat conservation plan that is being prepared for a 30-year permit by U.S. Fish and Wildlife and National Marine Fisheries Service, and a 5-year renewable permit from California Department of Fish and Game. Tasks include:
-
- Analyzing impacts to 17 covered species from projects and activities conducted by the SFPUC and covered by the permit.
- Developing a suite of conservation actions.
- Developing monitoring protocols.
Covered activities include ongoing operations and maintenance of the reservoirs, water transmission system, and watershed, as well as leaseholder activities and the HCP implementation itself. In addition, we are assisting in the development of environmental training programs and protocols for all SFPUC staff and contractors within the Alameda and Peninsula watersheds.
