Avila and Associates assisted with the development of the Integrated Water Resources Management Plan (IRWMP) Equivalent for the Niles Cone Groundwater Basin, as part of the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Proposition 50 grant process. This plan moves water from surface flow into the local aquifer through the Quarry Lakes in Fremont. The project required coordination with several partner agencies, including Alameda County Flood Control, East Bay Regional Park District and Union Sanitary District. The IRWMP was approved by DWR, which provided over $1 million for plan implementation.
